POTA Lower School
POTA is beginning the next chapter of our work with the launch of the POTA Lower School, opening in Fall 2026 with a Junior Kindergarten / Kindergarten program, and expanding to a full K-5 program in Fall 2027. This launch reflects sustained community interest in creating an elementary model grounded in our mission to extend whole-child learning, academic excellence, and Jewish education into the elementary years.
This Lower School will grow from the same commitments that have always defined POTA: deep relationships, intellectual curiosity, joyful learning, and a Judaism that is inclusive, vibrant, and grounded in daily life. The POTA Lower School will retain a focus on whole-child development, providing a rich social, emotional, and intellectual education for our students, preparing them for whatever comes next.
We are preparing for our longer-term home in a new building in Inman Square, where classrooms and shared spaces are being designed to support innovative, interdisciplinary STEM and Arts learning, and project-based, inquiry-driven academics.
The POTA Lower School campus features a full gym, outdoor learning space, a state-of-the-art maker space, and a POTA presence on the first floor that reflects our values of openness and community. In the heart of the city, our campus offers unparalleled access to experiential and place-based learning, connecting students with all that Cambridge has to offer. We are grateful to have received very generous commitments from donors to ensure a strong, well-resourced launch aligned with our educational vision and values. If you, or others you know, want to join our circle of benefactors, or want to learn more how you can partner and support the vision, please let us know!

We are excited to share that Esther Grunblatt, our current Director of Education, will serve as Head of the Lower School; and that Caitlin Dube, Ed.M., will design and lead our academic programming as our founding Principal. Together, they are building a school that offers educational excellence and POTA’s distinctive approach to Jewish life and learning.
